HEY YOU!

  • Dec. 2nd, 2008 at 9:47 AM

YA YOU!

I am finished. Done. Finito. (spelling?)

I'm STOKED that we're done with Livejournal.

I kinda posted this last minute, but I thought everyone should know that I am BEYOND excited that I don't have to ramble on and on and on, with 12 or more posts at a time. (Sorry Kelsey, I'm sure it was annoying lol)

I have already thanked everyone in my acceptance speech, including commenting Dr. A-C for her aid in this endeavor, so I would like to take this time and say goodbye!

I am hopefully transferring to UNT for the spring semester, so I wish everyone luck to those who are continuing on with this class and other classes her at Collin.

I've had an amazing time here and I cannot wait to see where everyone is 5, even 10 years from now. EXCITING!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

VICTORY!

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 10:58 PM

I DID IT! I made 42 entires! DAYYYS before the actual due date. I believe that makes me completely awesome. I would like to thank all the people that made this possible. Mr.Keyboard, the hotel dude that allowed us to have free internet, my father for driving really slow so I had time to write all of this down, I'm sure I'm forgetting someone....

Anyways. I thought I'd be weird for a minute. I'm done now. and done with these entries! SWEET!

Now onto the comments I have to make. :)

CAUGHT UP

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 10:53 PM

OMG! I’m on my 42nd post! I have no idea how in the world I was able to do that. I guess being on the road forever helps me a lot. I had no idea I was able to even think about all of these things so quickly, much less write about them. I’m just glad to have the writing portion over with. Now all I have to do is comment every single post from everyone else to come up with 84 comments. I think that will be an amazing feat in it self. (I only have 19 currently) Wish me luck!

History Test

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 10:52 PM

I don’t think that I have ever filled out so many notecards in my life. I took someone’s idea of writing out the terms to know, and there were a whopping 90 terms on that study list. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think I would do well at all without that review sheet. I have no idea how well or how not well the test went, but I hope that all that studying paid off. I still think that reading that text book is helpful, especially when you review the terms in context, you actually remember what happened leading up to it, what it was, and what the effects were. I had to take the test super fast too, so I hope that didn’t mess up my chances of improving my grade.

Catching Up

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 10:52 PM

I have no idea how everyone keeps up with these entries. I’m sure it’s super annoying to those who actually do this on a weekly basis for me to post like 10 at a time. For some reason I feel like I have nothing to say most days, so I won’t write about anything. LiveJournal has enabled me to vent some of the pent up writing I’ll hold until we mention something worthy in class to write about. I’m just glad the election is over, so I don’t go around venting about it. I’m pretty sure we all know who stands where regarding McCain and Obama. Haha

Flying to Indiana

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 10:51 PM

I flew to Indiana on Friday to spend time with my best friend Loryn and isit the Purdue campus. It is quite an amazing campus, but freakin a, it was so gosh darn cold. It was a HIGH of 22 the day I landed, and stayed a brisk 30 the rest of the trip. I have never been so cold in my entire life. There were times where we would get back into the dorm room and not thaw for a solid hour. We were frozen to the bone! I have no idea how she survives, but I guess that she has been steadily getting used to it (she’s been there since August) so I admire her for being un-whiny. (I was exactly the opposite all weekend) I did have a blast though, plus it was really good to see her and her new frinds. OH! And I got to see Twilight, freaking amazing.

Letter to the Editor

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 10:49 PM

So, for those of you who remember, we were assigned a comparison paper on the Thursday I decided to not set my alarm and sleep through class. There were also others that missed, and we were all lucky enough to get the chance to earn our credit back. I just have to say that that letter to Dr.A-C defending my grade, became one of the most appreciated (by me) pieces of work I’ve written. I have no idea if it was the emotional attachment, or it was fighting to prove that I deserve an actual grade, or making sure Dr.A-C  didn’t think I was someone who just ditched her and Professor Gunderson’s class, but it turned out quite well. Dr.A-C was gracious enough to grade y paper based on content and it was sure worth fighting for.

LiveJournal Let Down

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 10:48 PM

I’m pretty annoyed with LiveJournal. It seems as though they are always trying to fix something. On some occasions they will bring down the entire server. Sometimes the site will be down just because, and it’s super frustrating. I think it’s more frustrating for me, because the few times that I actually appear on this site and post anything, they want to work on the server. So that just delays my procrastination that much more. Those of you who understand posting to catch up, can hopefully feel my pain. Luckily I haven’t been too far behind, and I like to type, so it goes back fast. Score!

Sonic for Breakfast

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 10:47 PM

Sonic does NOT have the best breakfast food in the world. However, this morning we were a little late getting on the road, so by the time we stopped for breakfast, McDonald’s quit serving it. I LOVE their breakfast, but we had to settle for Sonic and their ick. BUT I have grown to like raspberry limeades which are pretty amazing. We ended up driving through McDonald’s anyway, ironically enough, but all we got was coffee, because they started to serve Big Mac’s at 1030. Ew. I’m hoping we pass through there for lunch though. Yummmmm.

Group Project

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 10:47 PM

I hope that I haven’t disappointed my group members. I know that I did a ton of research but I just hope that helped them enough. Unfortunately I’ve been out of town for awhile, but luckily Kelsey is an amazing project person and she has made this whole process look effortless. I wonder what kind of shenanigans all the groups will come up with. Maybe someone will come in an awesome costume, maybe someone won’t show up and their groups will be screwed or maybe it’ll be obvious who did their work and who didn’t. I’m still amazed that we only have two classes and the final left. It went by so fast!

Finals

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 10:45 PM

Is anyone else terrified about the exam? For some reason I feel totally unprepared. Not that I won’t study my freakin butt off, but that there may be something on there that comes out of left field that no one was expecting. Like, please give the first 15 digits of pie. I don’t know, I tend to tweak out about finals because I feel as though I’m going to have to recall information from forever ago, and I pretty much have the memory of a goldfish when it comes to school. Awesome.

Thanksgiving in Albuquerque

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 10:44 PM

So, we’re driving to Albuquerque for Thanksgiving, which apparently takes 12 hours. (I have no idea why it takes so long to drive through desert.) Maybe it’s because the lovely cops in the middle of BFE like to make clever speed traps through ½ mile strips of Podunk city. So I guess that has something to do with it, and the countless bathroom breaks, and food breaks, etc. I do get to see my cousins (Ava 5, Mila 3) who I haven’t seen since last year, and my favorite Aunt Kim and Uncle Mike. Woot!

Movie Jealousy

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 10:43 PM

I’m beyond jealous that everyone got to go to class today and watch a freaking movie. I get to be stuck on the road to middle-of-nowhere Albuquerque. SCORE. Haha. I think that driving for a countless amount of hours will allow me to catch up on livejournal. Luckily I got to watch National Treasure in High School, so I’m not missing anything. But, I would’ve loved to have been counted for attending class when all we did is eat carbs and watch a movie. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves!

History Paper Reflief

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 10:41 PM

I think that the history paper turned out to be a lot less stressful than originally planned. I never thought that I would be able to write one page about the Missouri  compromise, much less three. Maybe it was the whole “doing assignments on time” thing that actually helped me out. Haha. I have no idea what to expect for the exam essay though. Maybe we’ll get asked something absolutely ridiculous . Like, “please explain what you would like for Christmas and why”. I’d ace that.

livejournal

  • Nov. 9th, 2008 at 10:37 PM

Does talking about how many postings we have to do for class count as though i'm talking about class?

In case it does:
I've never typed so much in my lifetime. My wrists are starting to feel the heat from the vents in my laptop. And i have honestly not speed typed so much all at once since computer class in like 6th grade. I have no idea how those crazy blogger people type those novels every day for other weird people to read. hahha. that's just my opinion though. also, i've noticed that I'm starting to care less and less about grammar the faster i type. Sorry Dr.A-C. LOL

In case it doesn't:
I'm super excited about seeing Michael MacDonald TWICE in one day. That's so superbly amazing. I wonder if he's super cute in real life. Minus the age difference, I still think he would be undateable because of the severe mentality difference between him and anyone unexposed to actual suffering. I still think he's brilliant.

9 POSTS IN A ROW

  • Nov. 9th, 2008 at 9:52 PM

SWEET! I've already made 9 posts tonight! I'm sure I need a heck of a lot more, but that's pretty awesome progress.

I went to church today for the first time in about a year or so. I'm so amazingly blessed to have a Lord that somehow communicates the sermon directly to what is going on in my life. I have no idea how He does it, but it seems to happen every time I sit in that sanctuary. I go to Stonebriar Community Church, where Chuck Swindoll gives the most amazing sermons the world has ever experienced. I'm never bored, or confused. He relates it to you and your life and makes you feel like you are an important piece in God's plan. I have no idea where I would be without the Lord and his messengers (like Chuck).

:)

Test

  • Nov. 9th, 2008 at 9:48 PM

Did anyone else notice the immense amount of terms and "things to know" that is on the test review this time around??? I'm pretty positive that it had increased HARDCORE since the last test review. So I'm kinda freaking out about it. I think that if I tackle it one chunk at a time, that maybe I'll start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I freaking pray that I do way better than I did on our last test. But I think I'm going to try NOT cramming, and see how well I do. It'll be a major transition, since I haven't NOT done it that way since freshman year.

I hope there's at least one other person that is the teeniest bit nervous like me. lol

Anyone?

Last Election Post

  • Nov. 9th, 2008 at 9:44 PM

WELL maybe if I actually kept up with the posting situation, I wouldn't have to make such a difficult transition from 1/3 election postings to 0/3.

Yikes!

I think that this election has changed the world's view of our nation completely. Whether it is a positive or negative thing is both up to the other countries, and the term of Obama.

I'm hoping that we won't be hit with a national crisis right off the bat, like 9-11 because I honestly don't think that he will be prepared for it. I'm hoping everyone just leaves us alone for a little while, now that we have one of our least supported presidents of all time, out of the way.

Uh-Oh

  • Nov. 9th, 2008 at 9:40 PM

I've come to the sudden and scary conclusion that I have an enormous amount of shoes and clothes. I have no idea how in the world anyone at UNT expects me to fit all of that into the tiniest closet know to man. HAHA. Those dorms are about the size of half my room, and my current closet is about the size of a single style dorm. SOOOOO I'm going to have to do some serious downsizing, or just take the clothes I can't live without for the moment and switch them out every so often.

I don't even know if I got into UNT yet, so mabe I won't have to worry about it at all.
I hope I do though. I'd rather have a small closet in a dorm, than no dorm or UNT at all.

All Souls v. Gone Baby Gone

  • Nov. 9th, 2008 at 9:36 PM

I have to admit, I was freaking out when Dr.A-C said we were getting zeroes for the paper. (Those of us who missed the previous Thursday) I had no idea what in the world I was going to do. Thank the freaking Lord that she was at least going to give us half credit, and then the freaking awesomeness that is the repentance letter. I worked my butt off in not only the paper, but the letter that I wrote to convince her to even look at my paper. I have no idea how any of that turned out, but let's just say I will never miss another class unless I'm dying.
